Printing techniques
Tampon printing
Pad printing is indirect form of printing and can be used on almost all backgrounds and shapes. First, the design is placed on a metal plate through a photographic process. Then the image is applied to a pad. These pads can be made in different sizes and therefore can also print various shapes.
Screen printing
The artwork is applied to the article through a window of gauze with a light-sensitive top layer. A film is placed on the mesh on which some areas allow light through and other areas do not. The areas that are not exposed are flushed out of the mesh so that the ink can pass through them. The window is now placed directly on the article and the ink is pressed through the openings in the gauze.
Embroidery
Embroidery involves sewing the logo onto the article, for example. This can be used for example on textile products such as caps, bags or t-shirts. The price of embroidery usually depends on the number of stitches and the size of the logo. In order to embroider an item, an embroidery chart must first be created.
Laser engraving
With laser engraving, the logo is burned into the article. The color cannot be influenced but depends on the material of the article and the layers under the surface of the article.
Round screen printing
Round screen printing has the same technique as normal screen printing, only with round screen printing, round products can also be printed such as a pen for example.
Screen transfer
With screen print transfer, first the desired logo is screen printed on paper, a so-called transfer. The transfer is then cut to size and applied to the article.
Digital transfer
The logo is digitally printed onto a piece of plastic with an adhesive layer using a plotter. The logo is then cut out and applied to the article via a heat press. This printing technique is only used for textiles.
Ceramic Transfer
This printing technique is the same as screen printing transfer. First, the logo is printed on paper and then placed on the ceramic article. Unlike the screen print transfer, here the article is baked in an oven at a temperature above 700°C. During firing, the ink is absorbed by the ceramic article.
Embossing
In embossing, the item is printed with a heated stamp. This places the logo in a relief on the article. Embossing is only possible on leather articles.
Doming
Doming is a combination printing technique of a printed logo on a sticker and epoxy resin. The resin applies a transparent layer over the logo. This layer protects the logo from scratches and gives a special 3D effect.
Digital print
An ink jet is used to print the logo directly onto the item. This technique is suitable for flat or 3d articles.
Digital label
With a plotter, the logo is printed on a sticker and is cut to size at the same time. The logo is always printed in full color and is therefore highly visible.
